The Knights displayed their very best tonight as they took an aggressive approach on the pitch versus the Hawkeyes for the right to move on. The Knights struck quickly as senior Kaylyn Holtrop drove a ball to the backside of the net from outside the far edge of the 18. The Knights continued to control the attack until the Hawkeyes scored off a cross to a runner on the far side of the goal. Twelve minutes later, the Knights answered with a fast run to the corner by Freshman Peyton Thayer, who served and assisted the ball in to Senior Taylor Buskard who drove the ball home. In the second half, tempo continued to sway, and the Hawkeyes scored from distance to tie the game, forcing the game to overtime. Early in the first overtime, Kenowa took a handball in the box that the Hawkeyes converted, holding that lead to the end of the game. Knight's Keeper Sonnet Yancey played the best game of the season, hauling in 15 saves, with assistance by back line leader Freshman Lily McCarthy, that kept the Knights alive the whole game. The Knights clearly had put together their best game of the season, finishing in style with fighting to the final minute.
