Kenowa Hills Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Forest Hills Central
Kenowa Hills took the lead late and defeated Forest Hills Central 11-5 on Friday. The game was tied at five with Kenowa Hills batting in the top of the sixth when Nick Thayer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Justin Stulpe led the Knights to victory by driving in four runs. Stulpe went 3-for-5 at the plate. Stulpe drove in runs on a single in the second and a double in the seventh.
Forest Hills Central opened up an early lead in the first inning when Robertson singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Kenowa Hills evened things up at five in the top of the fifth inning. Nolan Thayer singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. The Knights put up three runs in the seventh inning. Stulpe had an RBI double in the inning to lead the run scoring. Trey Perry led things off on the hill for Kenowa Hills. The pitcher allowed nine hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
Custer was on the mound for Forest Hills Central. The hurler surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one. #9 threw three innings out of the bullpen.
Kenowa Hills tallied 16 hits. Evan Breuker, Stulpe, Trevin Laming, Thayer, Thayer, and Luke Hendricks all had multiple hits for Kenowa Hills. Laming, Stulpe, and Breuker each collected three hits to lead the Knights. Kenowa Hills didn't commit a single error in the field. Joey Klap had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
