Kenowa Hills Beats Calvin Christian In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Despite allowing three runs in the seventh inning, Kenowa Hills defeated Calvin Christian 13-5 on Wednesday. Hollebeck and #6 each had RBIs in the frame.

Kenowa Hills got things moving in the first inning, when Luke Hendricks singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.  Kenowa Hills notched five runs in the third inning. The Knights big bats were led by Trevin Laming, Hendricks, Joey Hysell, and Jaiden Acker, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Joey Klap got the win for Kenowa Hills. The pitcher went five innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out four and walking one. Hendricks threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Versluis took the loss for Calvin Christian. Versluis went five innings, allowing ten runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking zero.

Kenowa Hills smacked two home runs on the day. Klap went yard in the sixth inning. Acker went for the long ball in the third inning. The Knights totaled 12 hits. Justin Stulpe, Hendricks, and Klap all managed multiple hits for Kenowa Hills. Hendricks and Stulpe each collected three hits to lead the Knights.  Versluis led Calvin Christian with two hits in three at bats.

Kenowa Hills improves to 23-8 on the season.
