Kenowa Hills Knights Varsity Overcomes Wayland In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Kenowa Hills weathered a scare by Wayland in the third inning where the Knights coughed up three runs, but they were still able to win 14-3 on Thursday. Wayland big bats were led by #14 and R Mutlshler, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Kenowa Hills secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the fourth inning. the Knights offense in the inning was led by Evan Breuker, Nolan Thayer, Jaiden Acker, Trevin Laming, Jack Kubiak, and Breuker, all driving in runs in the inning.They then pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Breuker singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run and Dylan Nguyen homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs. The Knights scored nine runs in the fourth inning. The batters contributing to the big inning included Breuker, Thayer, Acker, Laming, Kubiak, and Breuker, all driving in runs in the frame.

Laming got the start for Kenowa Hills. The righty lasted three innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out nine. R Mutlshler led things off on the hill for Wayland. The hurler allowed seven hits and ten runs over three and a third innings, striking out three. Z Davenport and M Musgrave entered the game as relief, throwing one-third of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Nguyen went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Knights in hits. Kenowa Hills was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kubiak had the most chances in the field with 12.

D Loomans led Wayland with two hits in three at bats.
