Kenowa Hills Baseball won the KH Invitational Saturday

The Knights started the tournament off with a win against Fruitport 13-2 on Saturday.  Kenowa Hills got on the board in the first inning when Justin Stulpe singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Gibson Ouellette led the Kenowa Hills Knights to on the hill, allowing four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three. John Green threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Reames took the loss for Fruitport. The pitcher lasted one-third of an inning, allowing five hits and five runs while walking one.

Trevin Laming hit his 3rd homer of the season in the third inning and the Knights all saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. StulpeLaming, and Ouellette all managed multiple hits collecting two hits each to lead team.  Matuz led Fruitport with two hits in three at bats.

After Lowell beat Fruitport in the second game of the 3 team tournament, the Knights and Red Arrows squared off to determine the winner of the tournament. 

Kenowa Hills earned the victory despite allowing Lowell to score four runs in the fourth inning. Lowell batters contributing to the big inning included North and Mcwayne, all driving in runs in the inning. But the Knights were able to steal the lead late in the game to accomplish a 10-7 victory . Kenowa Hills was down 7-6 in the top of the seventh inning when Joey Hysell singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Justin Stulpe led things off on the pitcher's mound for the Knights. The righthander went two and a third innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out four.  Spike was on the mound for Lowell.   Dennings and Melnik entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and two-thirds innings and one and one-third innings respectively.

Kenowa Hills racked up nine hits on the day. Dylan Nguyen and Stulpe each managed two hits to lead Kenowa Hills and Trevin Laming hit his team leading 4th HR of the season.
