Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Mona Shores and Reeths Puffer

The varsity volleyball team traveled to Fruitport where they battled with Mona Shores but fell short 1-3; scores were 16-25, 20-25, 25-19, 18-25.  The following OK Black match found the Lady Knights in another tight game with Reeths Puffer but ended up on the losing end with scores of 23-25, 20-25, 17-25.

In the match against Mona Shores, Anna Longcore scored off 2 aces and Macey Sevigny added 1.  Anna was joined by Kyla Reichert as the lone Knights to serve 100% for the match.  Leading the offense was MaKenna Joustra, who dished up 19 assists to leading hitters Megan VanHorn and Hali Blik who recorded 6 and 5 kills respectively.  Macey led the back row with 35 digs, followed by Anna with 22.  At the net, Gracyn DeMann stuffed Mona Shores 4 times and Laura Perrin was close behind with 3 blocks for Kenowa Hills.

The Lady Knights ended their league action playing some exciting volleyball against Reeths Puffer despite the scores.  Leading the charge with tough serving were Kyla with 2 aces and MaKenna and Mishelle Bergsma with 1 apiece.  Kyla, Gracyn, and Anna also served 100% for Kenowa.  MaKenna set up 14 assists to lead the offense, and Laura, Gracyn, Hali, and MaKenna each scored with 4 kills.  Gracyn again led blockers with 3 and Laura, MaKenna, and Reagann Skinner all added 1 apiece.  Macey hustled for 28 digs to lead the defense, and MaKenna recorded 15 in their final conference match.

The Lady Knights play their first district match at Reeths Puffer next Wednesday at 6:00 pm, so be sure to go and support your varsity volleyball team.  Go Knights!
