The Kenowa Hills varsity volleyball team traveled to Wayland for their opening round of the OK Gold tournament where they put up a tough fight but came up short with a 1-3 loss.  Great serving came from Austin Van Putten with 4 aces followed by Lily McCarthy and Anna Longcore with 2 aces each, and Lucy Jennette added 1 ace for the Knights.  Serving 100% for the match were Rylee Cook, Olivia Granger, McKenna Buehler, Austin, and Anna.  Austin also led in assists with 15, and Abby Chapman added 7 assists for the Lady Knights.  Anna and Shelby Porter each killed the ball 8 times followed by Laura Perrin with 5 kills.  Rylee kept the ball alive with 25 digs, and Austin and Anna also collected 18 and 17 digs, respectively.  At the net, Shelby dominated with 8 blocks and Ashley Crinion stuffed the Wildcats for 5 blocks.  The Lady Knights travel to West Catholic tomorrow before their second round of the OK Gold tournament next Tuesday.
