Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Grant, Ravenna, and Northpointe Christian

The varsity volleyball team celebrated a trio of super seniors - Ashley Crinion, Anna Longcore, and Laura Perrin - on Thursday 10/22 with a quad that included Grant, Ravenna, and Northpointe Christian.

In their opening match against Grant, the Knights fell to the Tigers1-2.  Leading servers were Rylee Cook, Austin Van Putten, and Anna Longcore who each scored with an ace.  Austin and Anna also served 100% along with Abby Chapman and Ashley Crinion.  Setting up the offense were Austin with 12 assists, and Abby with 4.  Leading hitters included Austin, Anna, Laura Perrin, and Shelby Porter all with 5 kills.  Defensively, Rylee dug up the ball 12 times with Anna and Olivia Granger each adding 6 digs for the Knights.  Shelby dominated at the net with 8 blocks followed by Laura and Austin with 4 apiece.

Against Ravenna, the Knights came up short 1-2.  Abby, Austin, and Anna each served up a pair of aces, and Rylee, Olivia, Anna, and Lucy Jennette all served 100% during the match.  Austin led the offense with 15 assists, and Abby added 5.  Putting down a whopping 12 kills for the Knights was Laura, followed by Austin with 4.  Anna and Austin each had 8 digs to lead the back court on defense. Shelby led blockers with 7, followed by Laura and Austin with 5 each.

In the nightcap vs Northpointe, the Knights were outlasted by the Mustangs 1-2.  Austin racked up 3 aces followed by Rylee and Olivia with 1 apiece.  Serving 100% for the Knights were Rylee, Lucy, Olivia, and Anna.  Austin and Abby each tallied 8 assists to lead the offense, and Shelby, Anna, and Austin put the ball down for 5 kills apiece.  Anna dug up the ball 7 times followed by Rylee, Lucy, and Austin with 4 digs each.  At the net Laura led with 5 blocks, and Shelby and Anna each chipped in 3 for the Knights.  The final round of the OK Gold tournament for the Knights will be on Tuesday at Thornapple Kellogg.  Go Knights!
