Sensational Six Non Stereotypical

The Kenowa Hills Wrestling Team is made up of 24 Student-Athletes that call themselves “wrestlers.”  Gender equity is alive and well! For the first time in school history a quarter of the team are girls.  Women’s wrestling is growing rapidly around the county, in the State of Michigan and right here at Kenowa!

The Knights have six girls leading the way.  Kenowa’s Head Coach Tom Bennett refers to them at the “Sensational Six.”  The word “sensational” means something extraordinary, that attracts interest, something exceptionally good or outstanding!  Aisia Jennings (pictured), Natalie McCune, Ashlynn Andree, Kaia Schenk, Jasmin Doubblestien and Alexis Gerth all compete against both girls and boys and next Sunday, February 2nd they will be competing in the 2nd Annual MWA Michigan High School Girls State Finals at Adrian College!  The State Finals will have nearly 200 girls competing for All-State and State Championship honors!

Kenowa is one of the top schools in the state for number of girls currently competing on their high school  wrestling teams!
