Kenowa Hills HS Wrestling is BACK!  24 Wrestlers started the season and 24 finished it! 17 First Year Wrestlers and 6 girls competed in 120 total matches, 1 senior and the team won 12 dual meets and qualified 3 for REGIONALS!  Sophomore Nate Moe is 39-5 placed 2nd at 140#, Freshman Mason Viveros is a dual sport athlete Basketball/Wrestling is 10-4 placed 3rd at 215# and Junior Dominick Cordes is 27-16 and placed 4th at 160# in Districts!  14 Knights gave it their all yesterday at Individual Districts at Sparta and wrestled their best!  Come cheer on Nate, Mason and Dom next Saturday at the Lowell Regionals as they compete for a top 4 placements and punch their tickets to the State Finals at Ford Field!! 

Nate Moe defeated Nick Johnson of Coopersville by fall in 42 seconds, Isaac Dailey of Greenville by a fall in 2:46, and Mario Moore of Whitehall 7-6 to earn his trip to Regionals!  Mason Viveros beat Northview’s Garrett Gee twice by fall in 5:06 and 2:06 as well as Caleb O’Neal of Fruitport 9-4 to advance to Regionals.  Dom Cordes won 3 matches by decisions to earn his advancement to Regionals over Tim Cumberworth of Coopersville 7-6, Carter Falon of Cedar Springs 7-6 and Jaiden Tatum of Northview 9-4!

Couldn’t be prouder of this team and appreciate the coaching staff of Elijah James Troost, Benjamin Cartwright and Spencer Munn as well as the numerous alumni that came back this season to give back and share words of wisdom!

If anyone wants to join the wrestling team next season let me know!  We are looking for several more girls to join the 6 sophomore girls to fill all 14 of the girls MHSAA State Finals weight classes!  If you have never wrestled before and want to give it a try or if you are in another sport you can dual sport with the wrestling team as well!
